LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ENERGY

 

The law of conservation of energy is common law in physics. It deals with the microscopic motion of the atoms in every reaction.  This law states that in a specific closed system, the energy is conserved.  Energy is normally measured in units known as Joules.  Mathematically, 1 Joule=1kg.m2.s-2. There are various forms of energy like kinetic energy, potential energy, chemical energy, electrical energy and thermal energy. Kinetic energy can be referred to as energy of motion while potential energy can be termed as the energy that relates to the place. Normally, kinetic energy is a form of mass that moves with a speed v. kinetic energy can be written as KE=1/2 m/v/2 .Thermal energy is given off as heat while electrical energy is created by the separation of charges that are stored in a battery. Potential energy is less straightforward than kinetic energy.  The potential energy of a specific object depends on the specific situation.  Sometimes, potential energy curve is used when describing the functions of some coördinates of the object’s location. The chemical force that holds molecules depends on the distance of the molecules.
