LABOR LAWS

Labor laws were established hand in hand with industrial revolution when the relationship of the workers and employers changed from small scale to large scale.  The workers sought better working conditions while the employers sought the conducive working environment which entails the flexible and less costly workforce. Labor law is also called employment law. The labor laws regulate the relationship between the workers and the employing entities, the trade unions and the government. The collective labor laws tend to regulate the relationship between the employers and employee. The person labor laws entail the employee’s right in the workplace.  The employment standards are termed as social norms. The labor laws are enforced by the government agencies. The child labor is highly prohibited by the labor laws. Labor laws make sure that the rights of the workers are adhered to as well as for that of the employer.  The living wage is set to be higher than the minimum wage. The working hours differ with the country.  The law ensures that the workers are paid overtime for the extra hours worked. Labor laws prohibit the discrimination among the employees in terms of gender or racial. The law states that an employee cannot be fired without any reasonable motive.
