CRIMINAL DETENTION

Criminal detention applies to a person who is arrested in respect of specific offense or to a person in custody in respect of a certain offense.  A person is detained in the police custody if that person is unfit to be tried in respect of the offense or if the suspect is acquitted of an offense.
